India Petcoke CFR (October)
Prices for high sulfur imported petcoke for the India CFR West coast rose marginally in October 2016, while mid sulfur petcoke prices increased by nearly 4 percent, according to CW Research's India Petcoke CFR price assessment update for the month of October.
The average cost of burning high sulfur petcoke on per unit of calorific value basis is at a 27+ percent discount as compared to Richard Bays coal for West Coast in October. In comparison, the average cost of burning high sulfur petcoke was at a 14+ percent discount in September.
Cement companies accounted for 70+ percent of the total petcoke volume imported by Indian firms in October 2016.
