February prices of high-sulfur imported petcoke fell by more than 12 percent MoM for both CFR East and West coasts of India, according to CW Research's February update of India Petcoke CFR price assessment. Meanwhile, the price of mid-sulfur imported petcoke decreased by more than 15 percent MoM on both coasts.

ÔÇ£The gap between USGC high and mid sulfur prices has narrowed down lately. The availability of high sulfur petcoke was relatively tight due to several tornadoes that affected southern Louisiana and Mississippi on February 23ÔÇØ said Sushmita Rai, Sr. Associate Analyst, CW Group.

India's imports of uncalcined petcoke exceeded 0.7 million tons in December 2015. Petcoke imports from Saudi Arabia and the US combined accounted for 95 percent of total Indian petcoke imports in January. The extended update of the report observed a 24 percent decrease in freight rates for bulk shipments as compared to last month.
