About 80% of the petroleum coke produced is used as energy source in various industries. Cement kiln and power plants are the chief end users. Most of the demand from the global petcoke market is now arriving from the East and the Middle East.

More than 100 refineries produce petcoke across the globe. Fuel grade coke and calcined coke are the two major types of petroleum coke available in the market. Increasing investments, high electricity demand and growing population are some of the key drivers of the petroleum coke market in the Asia-Pacific Region.
