Cementos Cienfuegos recently fulfilled its adjusted plan for this year, to respond to the high demands for the product in the investments that are made in Cuba, reports ACN. Ernesto Gálvez, production manager of that entity, declared to the Cuban News Agency that they completed the 406 thousand 505 tons (t), with which they exceed compliance by more than 490 t. Due to low raw material inventories, as well as fuel and electrical energy issues, the plant shut down its furnaces on November 23 and resumed the march a few days ago to complete the goal.

Gálvez assured that these are not the manufacturing levels desired, but they are the minimum goal line for 2022, even though they will remain active. "This is the result of a collaborative effort," he said, adding that "for the next 2023, there will be more challenging goals with the projects to reduce costs and ensure exports." The manager referred to the goals they have set for themselves to achieve the technical availability of a major industry in the country. These plans will reduce costs and pollution in the production of the intermediate product: clinker; or to achieve water availability and savings; as well as the Más500 project to increase furnace capacity.
