Cement prices have begun to fall in Cameroon, reports Camer Post. Cement prices have fallen by around XAF 200 per bag for Cimencam and XAF 50 per bag for Medcem as compared to government approved pricing of XAF 4,900 per bag.

Cement prices have declined slightly in the hardware stores, a bag of Medcem's cement being sold at XAF 4,700, down from from XAF 4,750. Meanwhile, a bag of Cimencam is sold at XAF 4,700, down  from XAF 4,900.

According to analysts, the cement prices are likely to fall further due to the on-going price-war between the Ministry of Trade and cement manufacturers. Some analysts feel that the unanimous ban on import is one of the many reasons for the decline in cement prices.
