Thailand's Siam City Cement, having seen the fall in cement demand in the third quarter affect its revenues, says it expects demand in Thailand to increase in the coming months, reports Asia Review. ÔÇØThis year, however, demand looks flat, at around 40 million tons. The company's earlier forecast for a 3 percent rise. If the new outlook proves correct, it will be the second year in a row that demand for cement fails to expand,ÔÇØ Said Kan Trakulhoon, CEO of Siam City Cement.

Siam City Cement expects demand to increase due to the several approved construction projects by the government, which are likely to commence in the next few months.

The cement company expects to earn profit next year due to lower input costs and improved profit margins. Siam City Cement is also focussing on increasing its cement sales in foreign markets as it seeks to capitalize on the stronger demand outside Thailand.
